The ICT Lab in the Prep Department is named after Fr. Richard Pereira who was Director of the Prep Department from 1985 to 1988. The lab is fully air conditioned and spacious. The light and sound effects are worth praises. It is well equipped with good speakers, sound mixers and a good quality smart board with a projector and a touch screen. The lab holds the attention of students without leaving any source for distraction. Inside the lab there is a CD collection on various concepts ranging from Mathematics, English, Rhymes to Environment. Internet connection has been provided so that the teacher can download the best videos for students. Each teacher can design her own programmes herself.

Students of the Prep Department visit the ICT lab at least once a week. It is based on Interactive Teaching and Learning process and enables the students to learn by using the Interactive Smart Board. It has a very pleasant and comfortable atmosphere which is appealing to the students whenever they enter the lab. The usage of fascinating technology leaves children between the age of 4-6 with better understanding due to visual impact.

The lab also provides an opportunity for the teachers to update their skills. They attend various training sessions for the same purpose. Many people, especially teachers from the various other schools visit the ICT lab and are highly impressed by the facilities provided. The knowledge given here is not only based on curriculum but it also includes a vast choice of topics. It has the best technology and the best environment for the best use of children. Hence a solid foundation in the use of technology for the learning purpose is made in the ICT lab.

The English Language lab is a new age system which aims to bring about a positive change in the way Indian students speak English. The raison d’être behind this elaborate equipment setting is to improve the pronunciation and speaking skills of the students. Through the audio-visual source facility, the students are exposed to the recorded voices of the native speakers which enable the students coming from different socio-economic backgrounds to neutralize their accent and train their voice in different sounds of English.

St. Xavier’s Sr. Sec. School is equipped with two English Language labs, both for training the junior as well as the senior students. The lab offers a two-way communication between the teacher and the students through the intercom facility. Every student can have direct interaction with the teacher and at the same time with the rest of the class. The Labs are equipped with resource materials, both audio and video, so that the activities carried out encourage the child to listen attentively, to view carefully, to express an opinion confidently and to imbibe the norms of courtesy and good-grooming both in speech and in behavior.

The School is equipped with two computer modern computer labs - one for the juniors and the other for the seniors. The Senior School lab has 55 computers and Junior School lab has 45 computers. There are five to six computers in the Server Room which is located between the labs. All the computers are now equipped with latest processors.

St. Xavier’s School is known for its sprawling playgrounds which are amongst the most lavish among the top schools of Delhi. The large playground is surrounded by the Basketball and the Tennis Courts. This ground is used for Cricket, Football, Softball and athletics. While a new pitch has been made for producing the future Tendulkars and Sehwags, adrenaline pumping, spirited matches are witnessed in the football area. The Softball area is adjacent to the junior school. While the ground was always central to the school life, the recent improvements have raised the spirits of the players and the sports lovers and have made every member of the school community feel proud of the facilities.

St. Xavier’s is one of the few schools in Delhi to own a swimming pool. It is situated behind the Heritage building between the Prep Department play ground and the Basket Ball Court. It was originally a part of the Hotel Cecil and very popular among Delhiites. The old pool was renovated and re-shaped in 2005. The pool is always packed with enthusiasts all through the swimming season.

The improvement of the school infrastructure and facilities added a new brick to the school campus, namely a volleyball court. Built next to the Tennis and the Basketball courts, the volleyball court is the latest addition to our sports complex. It is made to the highest perfection, using the best materials that go into building a synthetic court. Complete with a proper net, the court has the dimensions of a national professional court. One can see students enjoying a spirited match during their physical education periods. This has truly been a welcome augmentation to our already excellent school sports facilities.

Next to the school ground, is a place which is home to a rising trend in sports – the game of Tennis, which is reviving in Xavier’s in a big way. The new Tennis court now boasts of a synthetic play area, and is great for matches as well routine, everyday practice. The School has started a special coaching program to equip a large number of students to use the new facility. A full sized, well demarcated playing area, excellent playing surface, and availability of good tennis balls make the court much in demand. Coaches from professional sports bodies train the students in proper knowledge and skills of the game.

The classrooms here at Xavier’s give one a glimpse of the future. Enlarged now with more space to meet up with growing demands of providing good education to many, the classrooms are equipped with Smart Boards giving teachers a chance to take the teaching – learning experience to a whole different level. Concepts can be easily grasped through visuals and working models. Studying social science through smart boards helps transport students to a different era and hence makes recollection of facts easier. For English, films, lectures and thought provoking snippets are shown which initiate discussions thereby enhancing spoken English skills. Eloquent, impressive speech clippings are also shown, which exposes children to good vocabulary and ideas, which in turn help them to be more expressive and articulate.

The moment you step onto the campus through the main gate you come on the focus of the CCTV cameras that are installed all over the campus, classrooms and corridors. This has been done to enhance the security of the school.
